So I have a few good pieces of news!! Well mostly good I guess. So...my grandma Mimi, in Texas, called on my birthday to wish me Happy Birthday and I also talked to my Uncle Todd and my cousin Allie and I was telling them how badly I want to come visit down there because it has been about 5 and a half years since I was last there. So...last Thursday, like two days ago, I was looking into plane tickets for about 6 hours and I am now getting to go to Texas for spring break! I am sooooooo excited! I got the best flight available for the cheapest price. I was nervous to be travelling alone, but I didn't care because I get to go see my family after 5.5 years of not being down there! It is not the best situation down there because my family in Texas has a ton of problems, but I just want to get down there. And then, on Friday (yesterday) I was talking to Amber about how much fun it would be for her to come with me. Her plan was already to go to California by herself for Spring Break anyway. So, after quite a bit of convincing and pleading, AMBER IS COMING TO TEXAS WITH ME! Woot woot! It is going to be a lot of fun and I am looking forward to it.
Another little piece of good news, first Congrats to Amber for finally taking her written and passing it! She will take her drive test next Saturday and finally get her license!! So congrats to her! Also, today is my old best friend and neighbor's birthday, Amanda Arend! I miss her and her family dearly, and Happy 16th Birthday Amanda! Congratulations! Hopefully, now that we can both drive, maybe we can get together more often.
Again, on the downside, finals are this upcoming week... so wish me luck everyone!
Oh, and to explain the title of this post, you would have to in mine and Amanda Arend and Jack Arend's heads...inside joke from a looooong time ago! GOOD TIMES.
My name is Cierra Pendleton. I am 17 and I am a junior now at Olympia High School. For any of you out there who want to keep up-to-date on the goings of my life and how I'm doing, here it is!

Oh, I am getting ahead of myself.
Ok, so I missed a couple of key notes between my last two posts. First, the Sunday before my birthday, I went downtown with one of my besties Amber. Our original plan was to do a little birthday shopping for eachother (because mine was the 21st and hers is February 8th), but we didn't consider in our plan making that stores would be closing because we didn't go until about 4:30 Sunday afternoon. So we ended up just taking pictures at the capital instead. It was already dark, but we had a lot of fun.

The next thing was that my sister Breanna left for Ghana on the 19th, only two days before my birthday! It was sad to see her go and we all miss her so much, but she is going to have such an amazing time and it will definitely be a life changing experience. Her plan is to be in Ghana for four months, doing her study abroad program. (My mom and I think it's odd that she wanted to spend $16,000 to go live in poverty, but I guess it is more about the experience.) And she seems to be having fun with that. So she will be done with that late May or early June, and then she and two of her friends are going backpacking around Europe for a month!! I am so jealous of them! They will go spend a week in Spain, a week in France, a week in Italy, and a week in Greece before flying home at the end of June. I miss her so much, but she is on an amazing adventure that she is lucky to enjoy and that she will never forget!
Another sad thing was that a great family friend, Tom Saelid, past away on January 17th, just four days before my birthday. His funeral was on Sunday the 23rd. It was a very sad day, the funeral day...I just don't like funerals. I am definitely a bawler. It was really awful, and really rare how he died though. He had been battling cancer for a while, and it wasn't even entirely the cancer alone that killed him. He actually died of lung toxicity from the cancer treatment. This severity of it that he had though is EXTREMELY rare, and where it usually takes months to kill a person, it killed him within just a couple weeks. I just feel so sad for his wife Gina and their three kids Lauren, Glynn, and Danny. Lauren is a year younger than me and we used to be friends...we talk like maybe a couple times a year, but my heart pours out to her and the rest of the family. RIP Tom Saelid, you will be missed terribly.

My Amazing 17th Birthday!
Next event was my birthday, which was January 21st! It was a really good day, and I had two nights to celebrate it and I will be having my third on Sunday with my family! So, I turned 17 a week ago! So I can now go see R rated movies (hehe)! My actual birthday night was pretty laid back, I spent it just hanging out at my house with my parents and my friend Marie.
That night, of my actual birthday, I had already gotten some presents too! My sister bought me this really cute ring, my parents got me a really beautiful necklace and also some black, heeled boots, Amber brought my flowers to school, and Marie brought me flowers and coffee when she came over in the evening!
And then, on Saturday, I went out to dinner with almost all of my best friends! I got a group of 7 people to go to Red Robin to celebrate and we all had sooo much fun! It was a great dinner! So we all had dinner and then we went over to Marie's house to watch a movie. It was quite the evening with an amazing group of friends! So thanks guys for making my birthday so special.

So now I only have a year left of being considered a teenager. Now, in less than a year, I will be 18! I will be getting ready to go to college, I will be able to vote, I will be an adult! It's very exicting but also scary at the same time. But for now, I'll just enjoy being 17! Happy Birthday to me! :)

Musical Adventure in Seattle
So, I have a few different events that I have been wanting to talk about on here, but just haven't gotten around to it! So here they go! So..first off, Wednesday January 12th, I got to go to Seattle with some of the music students at Oly to see the operaThe Barber of Seville at the Seattle Opera House! It was soooooo amazing! I loved it! The music was incredible and it was more of a comedic opera as oppose to the usual depressing drama operas.
So, the music classes do this thing every year where the music teachers plan a trip to take the first 85 students to sign up up to Seattle to see an opera at the Seattle Opera House. I got to go last year and this year, but it is typically only for upperclassmen. And sidenote, one of the best parts, was that it only cost $20 per student! How awesome is that? So we all take buses up there, we go to a little lecture about the story of the opera, and then we all seperate to go to dinner and after about an hour and a half of free time, we all met back up at the opera house to watch the performance, which in this case, was amazing! The only bad thing about the show itself was that while we got to see the A cast of the show, the lead male singer was sick so the B cast lead male singer stepped in, but he was trying to save his voice for the performance the next night, so we could hardly hear him when the orchestra was playing.
After the show, we didn't get back to Olympia until about 11:30, so that Thursday was hard, but it was worth it! Here are some of the pictures that I got!

The first one is outside of the opera house. The second one, I took of the Space Needle! I am sooooo proud of this picture!!! And the last one my group at dinner. It was such a fun night and I'm excited to get to go next year!

So I can't STRESS this enough
Wow, I can not believe that I have not posted since March! Yeah, I say this every time..."So it's been a long time since I since I last wrote anything"...but it is so true! Trust me, I really do enjoy blogging. I'm not sure I have anyone who reads it, but I view blogging as a way to get out everything I want to say and keep whoever is interested updated on the goings of my life. Wow, so where do I begin? The last few months have been really, really hard on me. I'm still not sleeping at all, I am drowning in homework and stuff for school, and sadly, I still am not able to row because of my cursed knees. On the positive note, I have decided the 2011 is going to be a year of big changes for me, and it is going to be whether I like it or not. Last Sunday, I made the decision to go on a weight loss program because I want to actually be able to feel good about myself and my appearence, which is something that I haven't felt for a very, very long time. So I started a weight loss program almost two weeks ago and I've lost about 11 or 12 pounds, which I am very happy with! This year, I am also going to work on getting into a routine where I get all of my homework done and I actually get a significant amount of sleep each night. But the biggest one yet, is that this year, I will be starting the whole college process! I can not believe it! College is just around the corner! Well, ok, I still have a year and a half, but that isn't very long when you think about it. No, I have no idea yet where I want to go or what I want to do with my life. My goal right now is just to make it through highschool with good grades and get into a decent college. But I am getting to the age where I have to start deciding all these things! It is very exciting, but it's also the scariest thing ever! But speaking of age, that reminds me, MY 17th BIRTHDAY IS TOMORROW!!!! WOOT WOOT!
Now, I don't mean to sound all pathetic and everything, but there is probably more negative than positive that surrounds me right now. First off, I am currently trying to handle insomnia, somniphobia (I know, I'm crazy!), depression, anxiety, vertigo, anemia, and the fact that I am a loner. It is hard to battle all of that at once! To top if off, I had to say goodbye to my sister Breanna, who left yesterday for 5 months in Ghana and a backpacking trip through Europe. She is going to have a marvelous time there and she is going to accomplish so much and I am soooo excited for her, but I am also going to miss her sooo much! I also found out on Tuesday that a friend of the family, Tom Saelid, lost his battle with cancer Monday evening. My heart goes out to their family!!
This has just been a bad week. I'm struggling with school and depression, and just trying to keep up. But I guess that's how life goes right? However, it's not all bad! Let me think....what has happened since March? Well, I am still with my amazing boyfriend Michael, we are still going strong, and we will have been together for 3 years this April! I have now been driving for almost a year, in fact, my one year of driving will be up on February 5th, so I am super excited! 2010 Christmas was awesome! I got so much cool stuff! A new, beautiful scrapbook that is going to be a huge long project of mine, a Wii, some Wii games, a new camera, giftcards, a couple movies, a new coat, and a bunch of other stuff! New Years was kind of layed back this year, but I spent it with Michael and his two little sisters, and that was fun. Umm, I am again taking very challenging classes this year, but I like most of my teachers. What else? Anything else anyone wants to know? And yeah, I know, who wants to read a big long blog post and not see any pictures? Haha well they are coming. I promise! I will add some within the next couple days! Well, I guess that's it for now. I am going to do my best at keeping up with my blog, it's just hard because I am a busy person! But for now, so long! Too-da-loo! Haha Cierra OUT. (American Idol reference!)
